Free Photo Editing Software
Amazingly enough some of the best (things) programs are free. Getting programs free is one of the greatest benefits of being on the internet. One of these great programs that you may have heard about is Picasa. Picasa is a program provided by Google to everyone that has digital photos on their computer. It is great free photo editing software with a very powerful way to organize your photos by date, folders, and name. It can also create custom slide shows that you can show your family. It will scan your computer and add all the photos that are currently on your computer. Then you can tell it to scan certain folders like "My Photos" for places where you frequently add images.
A friend of mine uses it to communicate with his family while he is at college. All he does it add his photos to his computer and then clicks on the BlogThis button and the automatically get resized and posted to his blog with his comments. It makes sharing stories and trip photos much easier then those old slide shows or stacks of photos. You only have to tell the story once in the photo caption and all your friends can read about it. It can also resize and attach your photos to emails which makes it really nice if you are not into blogging yet.
Crop, Edit, adjust colors, brightness, red eye, and add effects without trouble at all. There are paid programs that done do all this so I recommend it fully.
If you want to get Picasa then all you need to do is download the Google Pack and it will be automatically installed. There are many other free programs in the Google Pack if you wish to install them such as virus scanners, spyware removal programs, and search tools for file on your computer comes with Google Desktop.
